Cathy Freeman

Cathy Freeman or Catherine Astrid Salome Freeman is an Australian athlete. She is from the aboriginal heritage. She was born in Slade point, Queensland on the 16 February 1973. Her special field was 400 meters sprint. Her biggest accomplishment was in 2000 during the Olympic Games in Sydney. In this Olympic Games she won the gold medal on 400 meters sprint. She did also light the Olympic flame. During the victory run around the court did she lifted both the Australian flag but also the Aboriginal flag up high. Freeman has won a lot of gold medals in different competitions.
